Delivering world class coaching

When kids pick up a bat and ball, we want them to know that they can follow their dreams. Our commitment is to do everything in our power to support them on this journey and make their dreams a reality.

As well as ensuring the game is fun, inclusive and accessible to play, we are also dedicated to helping players from all backgrounds to reach their full potential, and in doing so continue the legacy of great players who have themselves inspired the next generation..

To do this it is important to create a clear pathway from our entry level programs and clubs to representative competitions right through to the national teams. While not everyone can represent South Africa, players should know that if they have the passion, dedication and commitment, there is clear passage from the backyard to professional Cricket.

Here are some key aspects and features of mini cricket coaching:

Introduction
  1. Introduction to Basic Skills: Mini cricket coaching focuses on teaching children the fundamental skills of cricket, including batting, bowling, fielding, and wicket-keeping. Coaches use age-appropriate drills, exercises, and games to develop these skills gradually.
  2. Modified Equipment: To suit the abilities and size of young players, mini cricket coaching often utilizes modified equipment such as softer balls, lighter bats, and smaller-sized stumps. This helps children to develop their skills with ease and builds their confidence.
  3. Emphasis on Technique: Coaches pay particular attention to teaching correct techniques and form in batting, bowling, and fielding. They guide children in developing the proper grip, stance, and execution of cricketing actions.
  4. Game Understanding: Mini cricket coaching introduces children to the basic rules and concepts of the game, including scoring runs, taking wickets, and understanding fielding positions. Children learn about teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship.
  5. Skill Progression: As children advance in their skills, mini cricket coaching programs provide a structured progression, gradually introducing more advanced techniques and strategies. Coaches monitor individual progress and provide feedback and guidance accordingly.
  6. Small-Sided Matches: Mini cricket coaching often includes small-sided matches or modified game formats to provide children with opportunities to apply their skills in a game-like setting. This allows them to experience the dynamics of the game and encourages teamwork and decision-making.
